Psychological Assessments

Home / Social Investigation Services

A psychological evaluation is a comprehensive assessment process conducted by a licensed psychologist or other qualified mental health professional to understand an individual’s mental health, cognitive abilities, and emotional functioning.

Components of Psychological Evaluation

Components of Psychological Evaluation Services may include Social/Developmental History, Behavioral Observation, and Standardized Testing.  Standardized testing often occurs in Processing, Cognition, Social/Emotional, and Academic Achievement.  Evaluators may gather information from other sources, such as teachers, family members, or previous medical records, to provide a fuller picture of the individual’s functioning and history.

After the evaluation, the psychologist compiles the results into a detailed report, including test scores, interpretations, diagnoses (if any), and recommendations for treatment or further steps. A meeting will be held to discuss and explain the results.
